Computer Room, Bonn University. 1996. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. My first exposure with the Realist! Net God[tm] in his natural habitat (that's his *personal* DECstation!), taking a break from commanding the net to check out my (el cheapo) light meter. Computer Room, Bonn University. 1996. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. Another view of the Great Net God[tm]. That terminal really kicked ass -- check out the mouse! Too bad it broke sometime later. The doodle on the blackboard is by yours truly. :^)

Bonn, 1996. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. This was just a test to get a feel for stereo photography by snapping away at miscellaneous items in the attic. I'd never even think of taking such a shot with a conventional camera, but in 3D even uninspired crap like this looks good! The black & grey contraption resembling a tank on the table is the ubiquitous Rollei P11 6x6/35mm slide projector. Bonn, 1996. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. Plants... how mundane can you get? This early test exposure with the Realist proved me wrong. Surprisingly, the foliage comes out remarkably well in 3D.

Rheinaue leisure park, Bonn, 1996. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. This Japanese garden was one of the installations originally laid out for the 1979 garden exhibition. Its current state is a far cry from what it once was in those good old days... Rheinaue leisure park, Bonn, 1996. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. Mini (micro?) waterfall in the Japanese garden. This didn't quite give the sense of depth I hoped it would.

Bonn, 1996. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. Testing the Realist with my first film, I happened on this group of musicians. Pretty lame under ordinary circumstances, but surprisingly effective in 3D. Technical museum, Sinsheim. 1996. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. Buncha dummies sitting around a Caddie (or whatever). Great.

Technical museum, Sinsheim. 1996. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. A high class dummy and her Plymouth. Technical museum, Sinsheim. 1996. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. The vaunted Fw190.

Gulf road, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 400. Great view of Kuwaiti headgear in the Chevy in front waiting at a red light. Kuwait towers is just up ahead. The red splotch is yet another infamous Realist lightleak! SAS hotel, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 400. ApeTronix[tm] plays with the solid granite ball supported by water jets below. With some patience and a decent grip on its slippery surface, you can spin this 8 ton clunker any way you want (in ultra slow motion, of course). The wall in the background is festooned with the usual pix of post-1991 Iraqi destruction found in most public buildings in Kuwait. Since the Realist has its stupid custom flash mount, I had to make do with the available artificial light. The colour balance sucks despite postprocessing.

Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. Yep, the ol' bathroom's the perfect place for a lame, impromptu self-portrait! The Realist has that rare quality of not only making you *feel* like an idiot using it, but also *looking* like one. The sh*tpaper in the foreground's a nice touch... Arab Organisations Headquarters, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 400. View into atrium overlooking balcony.

Arab Organisations Headquarters, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 400. Pre-function hall fountain. Arab Organisations Headquarters, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 400. Mamluk room. This is a staggering egg sample of traditional Egyptian craftsmanship. A wide angle lens would've helped here.

Arab Organisations Headquarters, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 400. Another shot of the Mamluk room. Arab Organisations Headquarters, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 400. 4th floor balcony passing through atrium.

Arab Organisations Headquarters, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 400. Mashrabiya overlooking balcony. Arab Organisations Headquarters, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. Mosaic stuff in lobby.

Arab Organisations Headquarters, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. Damascene room. Arab Organisations Headquarters, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. Damascene room.

Arab Organisations Headquarters, Kuwait. January 1997. Stereo Realist, Kodak Gold 200. Tunisian room. The conference table consists of a solid slab of marble. Freiburg, 1999. Stereo Realist, Ilford HP5 Plus. This chick was the other half of a two
